Cheers to the finest time of the year in the Lowcountry!

The Hilton Head Island Wine and Food Festival is returning from March 23-29, 2025, bringing with it beautiful weather, exceptional wines, and mouthwatering dishes from the area's top culinary talent.

The festival was originally created as part of a broader initiative to attract visitors and boost the island’s tourism industry. At the time, Hilton Head Island was primarily known as a summer beach and golf destination. A passionate group of wine enthusiasts, alongside talented local chefs, launched what has since become an annual tradition.

What began as a modest three-hour tasting event in a parking lot has evolved into a week-long celebration featuring exceptional wine dinners, the popular Sip and Stroll, the Stay Gold event, and the festival’s hallmark experiences—the Grand Tasting and the beloved Public Tasting. This year, the Public Tasting moves to Celebration Park, conveniently located across from Coligny Beach.

In anticipation of the festival, the International Wine Competition takes place several months in advance. Certified Wine Educators and Advanced Sommeliers spend three days evaluating more than 250 wines, awarding Gold and Silver medals to the best selections. These winning wines are showcased throughout the festival, with the prestigious Double Gold winners featured at the Stay Gold event—a highlight of the celebration.

The festival is organized by Hilton Head Wine & Food, Inc., a nonprofit corporation. Proceeds from the festival’s wine auctions at the Grand and Public Tastings directly support the John & Valerie Curry Educational Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships for students pursuing hospitality and tourism degrees at the University of South Carolina Beaufort and the Technical College of the Lowcountry. Over the past eight years, the festival has awarded $155,000 in scholarships to deserving students, continuing its commitment to education and the future of the industry.
